How it works

Three steps. No new software.

I

Send us your details.

Your church name and logo, dates and service times, the order of worship, readings, hymn or song titles, and announcements. A Word doc, last week's bulletin, a photo, or a plain email all work.

II

We design it.

We lay everything out in a consistent style built around your church, following your liturgy, your wording, and your tradition. You see a proof before anything is final.

III

You print and share.

You get print-ready files to print in the office or at a print shop, plus graphics for social media. On weekly plans, send content by Tuesday at noon (PT), proof Wednesday, final Thursday.

The weekly scramble

You were called to ministry, not to fight margins in Word.

If you're the pastor, the church secretary, or the volunteer who “knows computers,” you probably know how this week goes:

  • Thursday-night formatting. The hymn numbers came in late, the announcements keep changing, and the page breaks won't behave.
  • A different look every Sunday.Fonts drift, the logo is blurry, and the bulletin and the Facebook post never quite match.
  • Seasons pile up.Advent, Christmas Eve, Lent, and Easter all need special programs, and they arrive in the busiest weeks of the year.
  • No budget for an agency, no time to learn design.Hiring a designer feels out of reach, and doing it yourself keeps eating evenings you don't have.

None of that is ministry. It's layout, and layout is the part we take off your desk.

What you get

Everything your church hands out and posts, in one consistent look.

Bulletins

Weekly bulletins laid out cleanly, easy to read, and delivered as print-ready PDFs.

Service programs

Seasonal services, including Advent and Christmas Eve.

Social graphics

Posts that match your bulletin, so your church looks the same on paper and online.

Digital bulletins

A screen-friendly version for email and phones (Plus plan).

Event flyers

One a month (Plus plan).

What we don't do

We don't print or mail anything, and we don't write your sermons, prayers, or liturgy. You supply the words, and we make them look right.

Who it's for

Made for small churches with big weeks.

If you have a full-time communications staff, you may not need us. If the bulletin depends on one tired person, we were built for you.

  • Pastors who also run the office.
  • Church secretaries and administrators who do five jobs at once.
  • Volunteers who said yes to “just the bulletin” and now spend every Saturday on it.
  • Churches of any tradition (liturgical, evangelical, mainline, or independent) that want their materials to look cared for, without hiring an agency.
Our promise

You approve it, or you don't pay for it.

On every order, we revise within the original scope until you approve. If you change your mind any time before your final files are delivered, you get a full refund. No forms and no runaround.

About the studio

A small studio for small churches.

LanternLetter Co. is an independent design studio founded by Kane. We make bulletins, service programs, and social graphics for churches that don't have a design team, and often don't have a full-time office either.

Our name comes from a simple idea: a lantern doesn't do the walking. It just makes the path easier to see. We don't write your liturgy or choose your scripture, because you know your people and your tradition.

Need approval first?

That's common, and we're glad to help. Here's a short, honest summary you can forward or read aloud at a meeting. Many churches start with the free Advent cover so the board can see a real design with the church's own name and logo before deciding.

Getting started

How do we get started?

The easiest first step this season is a free Advent bulletin cover: pick a style, add your church's name and logo, and see it in seconds (free for the first 40 churches, requests close Nov 20). If you'd like to go ahead with a plan or the Advent Set, email [email protected] and we'll send payment details and a short list of what we need.

Get your free Advent cover

Is the free Advent cover really free?

Yes. One cover per church: the front panel of a letter-size bulletin, in your chosen style, with your church's name and logo (or text), as a PDF and PNG you can download right away and that we email to you. No card and no obligation, and nothing becomes a subscription. It's free for the first 40 churches, and requests close Fri Nov 20, 2026, 11:59 PM PT.

What do you need from us each time?

Your church name and logo (if you have one), dates and times, the order of worship, readings, hymn or song titles, and announcements. A Word doc, last week's bulletin, a photo, or a plain email all work. You don't need to format anything.

Budget and approval

We're a small church on a tight budget. Is this worth it?

That depends on what your time is worth. Starter is $49 a month for a professionally refreshed template and 8 social graphics. Standard is $99 a month for a finished weekly bulletin plus 12 social graphics, so the bulletin no longer depends on someone's evenings. If you only need help for the season, the Advent Set is a one-time $39 ($29 early-bird when paid by Sun, Nov 15, 11:59 PM PT, one per church). Monthly plans can be cancelled anytime, so you can try one and stop if it isn't right. Annual plans give you 2 months free.

I need our pastor, committee, or board to approve this. How should I bring it to them?

That's common, and we're glad to help. Below is a short, honest summary you can forward or read aloud at a meeting. Many churches start with the free Advent cover so the board can see a real design with the church's own name and logo before deciding.

  • Commitment: no contract. We can cancel anytime, effective at the end of the paid period.
  • Risk: they revise until we approve, and they refund in full if we cancel before final files are delivered. We own our final files.
  • Payment: card, or an invoice to the church on request.
  • Next step: a free Advent cover with our name and logo, at no cost or obligation.

Contact: Kane, [email protected] · getlanternletter.com

Can you invoice the church? Will our treasurer get a receipt?

Yes. By default you pay by card through Stripe or Payhip, and you get a receipt for every payment. If your church prefers to pay by invoice, just ask and we'll send one.

Denominational and theological fit

Our tradition is different. Will this fit our church?

Yes. We design, and you supply the wording. We follow your liturgy, your order of worship, and your tradition as you send them. Titles such as Pastor, Minister, Priest, or Elder, and lines such as Communion, the Lord's Supper, or the Eucharist, can be kept, changed, or removed. Whether your service follows a lectionary and a set liturgy or a simple order of songs, sermon, and response, the layout follows you.

Do you write content, choose readings, or change our wording?

No. You supply the words, scripture, prayers, and liturgy, and we set them as you send them. If something looks like a mistake (a date that doesn't match, a missing line), we'll ask rather than guess. We never add theological content of our own.

Which Bible translation do you use?

Yours. We set scripture in whatever translation you send: NIV, ESV, KJV, NRSV, CSB, NKJV, NLT, or any other. If you'd like the translation named on the page, just tell us.

Can you include hymn or song lyrics?

Only if your church holds the licence (for example, CCLI). Otherwise we list titles and numbers and leave space, so your congregation can use hymnals or screens as usual.

Files and printing

What file formats will we receive?

Bulletins and programs come as print-ready PDFs. Social graphics come as image files ready to post. On Plus, the digital bulletin is a screen-friendly version for email and phones. Where the product is a template (Starter and the Advent Set), you also get an editable file so you can type in the weekly details. If you need a particular format, ask and we'll tell you honestly whether we can provide it.

Can we print at the office, or do we need a print shop? Do you print or mail anything?

Either works. Files are set up for US Letter paper, so you can print on your office printer or send the PDF to a local print shop or copy center. If you need a different paper size, ask when you order. We don't print or mail anything ourselves. You get the files and stay in control of printing.

Turnaround and revisions

How fast will we get our files?
  • Free Advent cover: instant preview and download on the site; emailed copy follows.
  • Advent Set: your first design within 1 business day after we receive your details. The last order date for Christmas is Tuesday, Dec 15, 2026, 11:59 PM PT.
  • Standard and Plus: send content by Tuesday at noon (PT), get a proof Wednesday and your final Thursday, every week.
  • Starter: your refreshed template and graphics are delivered by the 25th of each month.
  • Starting a new plan: when you sign up, we'll agree on the date of your first delivery together.
What if our content comes in late?

On Standard and Plus, content that arrives after Tuesday noon (PT) moves to the following week. If we can manage a Friday delivery, we'll tell you before we start, so you're never left guessing.

What if we need changes?

You see a proof before anything is final, and we revise within the original scope until you approve: a wrong date, a moved announcement, a layout that isn't quite right. On weekly plans, changes you send back on Wednesday's proof go into Thursday's final. If you ask for something outside your plan, like an extra flyer or a second program, we'll tell you first, and we never do or charge for extra work without your OK.

Plans, cancelling, and refunds

What's the difference between Starter and Standard?

On Starter, we refresh your template each month and you type in the weekly details. On Standard, you email the order of worship and we send back a finished, print-ready bulletin every week, plus 12 social graphics a month instead of 8.

Is there a contract? Can we cancel anytime?

There's no contract. You can cancel anytime by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid month (or paid year, on an annual plan), and you keep everything delivered up to then. There's no cancellation fee.

Can we switch plans or pause for the summer?

You can move up or down a plan anytime, and the change takes effect from your next billing period. We don't offer pauses, but you're welcome to cancel and start again later.

What's your refund policy?

If you change your mind any time before your final files are delivered, we'll refund you in full. Once final files are delivered, we make things right with revisions instead of refunds. When you cancel a plan, future billing stops, but we don't refund part of a month or year that's already paid.

Ownership, data, and privacy

Who owns the finished files?

Your church does. Your final bulletins, programs, and graphics are yours to print, post, copy, and keep using as you like, including after you cancel. Your church's name, logo, and content always remain yours. We keep the rights to our own underlying templates and layouts, so please don't resell them as templates.

What do you do with our logo and information?

We use your logo, content, and contact details only to make and deliver your designs and to communicate with you. We never sell or share your information, and we never use your logo for anything else. When you cancel, we delete your files, logo, and content within 90 days. If you request a free Advent cover and don't place an order, we delete your logo files within 90 days. We keep your name, email and church details so we can send occasional seasonal emails (like Lent and Easter), and you can unsubscribe anytime.

Will you show our church's designs on your website or social media?

Only with your written permission. Without it, your materials stay private.

Bulletins sometimes include prayer requests and names. Is that okay to send?

Yes. We use what you send only to make your bulletin, and we never share it. We'd still suggest sending only what you'd be comfortable seeing in print, since that's where it's headed anyway.
